Halloween in Village
The Friends of the Log Cabins sponsored "Halloween in the Log Cabin Village" on Quinsippi Island Oct. 27 & Oct. 28 This fun family event included trick-or-treating at the 1800's cabins and structures, hearing from "ghosts from the past" (actors and actresses in period dress) tell their story and explain their connection to our local history; hearing Father Tolton's story in the church cabin; and enjoying a weenie roast and s'mores, made over a campfire. This provided a unique opportunity for kids to learn about our local and national history and to experience Halloween as children in the 1800s would have. All proceeds go toward saving and restoring the log cabins in the village.
